MEET ARIEL ROSE
CO-FOUNDER & EXTENSION SPECIALIST
Ariel has been behind the chair for 16 years and for the past 14 years she has been growing her skills and her business at Gervais in downtown Eugene, OR. This past April, Ariel partnered with her longtime boss Sharah Madrone and they opened Aura by Gervais, where they specialize in hair extensions, color, and continuing education for hairstylists.
Ariel’s first love was blonding, until she shifted her focus to extensions and that has been what she has poured her energy into for the past 10 years. They say it takes 10,000 hours to master a skill, so that was Ariel's first goal when she started her journey with hair extensions. Ariel didn't just want to take a class or get a certification, she was determined to master extensions and work towards becoming a specialist.
Over the years she's become obsessed with learning everything she can about extensions. Continuing to invest in her education and practice has been what has propelled Ariel to an expert level when it comes to extensions.
Ariel’s main goal when she is installing extensions is to create a natural seamless blend between your hair and the extensions so that they are not only incredibly comfortable but completely undetectable.

MEET KAYLA MAY
Kayla is a Keratin Extension Specialist and has been behind the chair for 14 years. She started as an apprentice when she was 20 years old at Gervais and spent the past 14 years building her skillset there until this year when she moved to Aura.
Her first love as a stylist was hair color and she focused the beginning of her career on educating herself in all things color. After building a strong following, she started educating and mentoring stylists in our Gervais academy and discovered she had a passion for helping other stylists feel confident in their skills behind the chair.
In 2018 she started wearing hair extensions and was incredibly inspired to learn how to do them. They had such a huge impact on her fine hair and her confidence, that she wanted to be able to share that with her clients. Kayla became Great Lengths certified in 2019 and has shifted all of her energy since on building her skills into her specialty.
Her favorite way to use extensions is to help her clients get their natural hair to the most healthy state that it can be. When Kayla is out of the salon she loves spending time with her husband Jordan, her 3 year old son Carson and their dog Lola. They love to camp and spend time outdoors, especially in the summertime.
MEET KIPOON HOSTLER
Kipoon has been behind the chair for 10 years and started out her career as a barber. After building a large following in barbering and hair cutting she went independent in 2020 only to then immediately get shut down from Covid.
This break from barbering made her realize the tole it was taking on her body. This was initially the reason for her to pivot her focus to color and extensions. After working in Corvallis for the past 4 years building her color and extension skills, Kipoon's desire to master all things extensions inspired her to look for mentorship that could help her work towards her goal of specializing in extensions, which led her to apply to work alongside Ariel and Kayla.
Kipoon is incrediblv determined to improve her skills through education. She holds several certifications under her belt including masters of balayage and sew-in weft extensions. She is currently training in keratin extensions 1:1 with Ariel and working towards becoming a specialist.
When she's not working at Aura she's spending time with her adorable pugs Pepe and Opi. She also works part time at the VA giving haircuts and self care experiences to the veterans there.

SHARAH MADRONE & ARIEL ROSE
Ariel and Sharah have been working together for over 14 years!
Sharah has owned Gervais for 21 years and has grown it from one location to a top 200 multi-location salon with over 60 employees.
Sharah is a business coach and mentor to other salon owners. She has a passion for helping people not only reach their goals, but exceed well beyond their goals while providing the support they need as they're working to get there.
Sharah's main goal in growing a larger salon and wellness spa was to be able to support her employees with incredible benefits and an extraordinary place to work.
Sharah hired Ariel as a stylist in 2010 when she was just 21 years old and only 2 years into her career as a stylist. Ariel has always had a strong connection to education. Not only for herself but mentoring stylists and helping them build their dream career.
Sharah supported Ariel's dream to become a blonding and extension specialist by sending her to several of the top trainings all over the US during her career at Gervais.
The incredible culture and environment Sharah created at Gervais is what has what supported Ariel's continuous growth and success in her 14 vear career there. Sharah's leadership stvle has had such a huge impact on Ariel, that she asked Sharah to partner with her in opening a space that could offer a unique experience for not only clients seeking specialty services, but the stylists creating them as well.
Not only did Ariel and Sharah plan to create an extraordinary quest experience but they aimed to create an incredible environment for stylists to thrive and grow their careers. This is where Aura by Gervais was born.
People with a positive Aura are said to be confident, self-believing, inspirational, and can leave a lasting impression on others. It's our goal at Aura to create such an incredible environment for our stylists and clients that it leaves a lasting impression of positivity and confidence that they can carry with them into all areas of their lives.
